Scholarship

The Criminal Justice Section offers a limited number of scholarships each year to the courses listed below.

– Dawson Conference on Criminal Appeals May 25-27, 2022, Austin (New this year!)
– 48th Annual Advanced Criminal Law Seminar July 18-21, 2022, Dallas
– Criminal Law 101: July 17, 2022, Dallas
– Rusty Duncan Criminal Law Advance Seminar June 16-18, 2022, San Antonio
– Video Presentation of 48th Annual Advanced Criminal Law Seminar September 7-9 2022, Houston
– TDCAA Annual Criminal & Civil Law Conference September 21- 23, 2022, Corpus Christi

You must be a current member of the Criminal Justice Section to apply. Preference will be given to lawyers licensed 5 years or less. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. CST time on Friday, April 1, 2022.

Application Requirements:
1. Include one letter of recommendation from a judge before whom you have appeared in
the past six months and one letter of recommendation from another lawyer in good
standing with the State Bar of Texas. (Upload documents at the end of the application)
2. Applications must be complete at the time of submission. Incomplete applications will
not be considered.
3. Scholarships can be used for course registration and travel expenses.
